4. What is a web beacon?

A web beacon (or a pixel tag) is a small, invisible piece of text or image on a website that is used to monitor traffic on a website. In order to do this, various data about you is stored using web beacons.

5. Cookies

5.1 Technical or functional cookies

Some cookies ensure that certain parts of the website work properly and that your user preferences remain known. By placing functional cookies, we make it easier for you to visit our website. This way, you do not need to repeatedly enter the same information when visiting our website and, for example, the items remain in your shopping cart until you have paid. We may place these cookies without your consent.

5.2 Statistics cookies

We use statistics cookies to optimize the website experience for our users. With these statistics cookies we get insights in the usage of our website. We ask your permission to place statistics cookies.

5.3 Marketing/Tracking cookies

Marketing/Tracking cookies are cookies or any other form of local storage, used to create user profiles to display advertising or to track the user on this website or across several websites for similar marketing purposes.

6. Cookies we place

This website uses functional storage kept locally in your browser (language, currency, cart) and statistics/analytics via our first-party Google Tag Manager endpoint (sgtm.qfeeds.com) to understand how the site is used, optional Microsoft Clarity session analytics (heatmaps and session replay, processed by Microsoft) when enabled by us on marketing pages, plus optional marketing attribution via MailerLite (only with your consent, see below). The following items may be stored in your browser:

  • qf_consent, remembers your cookie-banner choice. Stored persistently in local storage.
  • qf_lang, remembers your chosen language (English/Dutch). Stored persistently in local storage.
  • qf_currency, remembers your chosen display currency (EUR/USD/GBP). Stored persistently in local storage.
  • qf_auto_applied, records that language auto-detection has already run so it is not repeated. Stored for the duration of your browser session.
  • qf_cart, keeps the items in your shopping cart between pages and visits. Stored persistently in local storage.
  • qf_pending_purchase, temporarily holds checkout details so a completed order can be attributed after payment. Stored for the duration of your browser session.
  • qf_vid, a randomly generated first-party identifier that lets us recognise a returning visit as the same browser and connect a completed order to the visits that led to it. It contains no name, email address or other personal detail and is never shared with third parties. Stored as a cookie for 2 years.
  • qf_attr, records how you first reached our site (the campaign parameters in the link you followed, or the website that referred you) so that an order can be credited to it. Stored as a cookie for 90 days.

Google Analytics (via our server-side tag manager) may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visitors and measure page views and shop activity. Our own qf_vid and qf_attr cookies serve the same statistics purpose without involving a third party: they are set by our website, read only by our own servers, and used to count visits and credit an order to the campaign or referral that brought you here.

Statistics: Microsoft Clarity (when enabled). When we turn Clarity on in our admin settings, a deferred script from clarity.ms may run on marketing pages (not checkout or account) to record anonymised session behaviour such as clicks and scroll heatmaps. Microsoft acts as our processor for this data. Clarity cookies (for example _clck, _clsk) may be set. If Clarity is turned off, that script is never loaded.

Marketing/tracking: MailerLite (consent required). Only if you accept marketing cookies, we load MailerLite's Universal script (assets.mailerlite.com), which sets a cookie so that a purchase can be attributed to the email campaign you clicked. It measures the effectiveness of our own newsletters and is not used for third-party advertising. If you decline marketing cookies, this script is never loaded and no MailerLite cookie is set. You can withdraw consent at any time in the preferences below. Reminder emails about an unfinished cart are a separate matter: they are sent only to signed-in customers who opted in to marketing email, are governed by that opt-in rather than by this cookie choice, and can be stopped in your portal account settings or through the unsubscribe link in the email.

We do not load advertising or social-media tracking pixels. Functional storage stays on your device. Checkout payment processing uses Stripe on the checkout pages only.

7. Consent

When you first visit our website, we may show a cookie banner to inform you about how we use cookies. Functional storage (see section 6) is required for the site to work. Analytics runs to help us improve the site. Marketing/tracking cookies (MailerLite campaign attribution) are placed only if you accept them, and are never set if you decline.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, it is as easy to withdraw consent as it is to give it:

8. Enabling/disabling and deleting cookies

You can use your internet browser to automatically or manually delete cookies. You can also specify that certain cookies may not be placed. Another option is to change the settings of your internet browser so that you receive a message each time a cookie is placed. For more information about these options, please refer to the instructions in the Help section of your browser.

Please note that our website may not work properly if all cookies are disabled. If you do delete the cookies in your browser, they will be placed again when you visit our website again.
